about family first

Mission Statement

We are dedicated to providing quality, compassionate and convenient medical care for all ages.

Our core values are exceptional customer service, teamwork, and a great place to work.

History of the practice

Founded in 1981, Family First was previously known as the Walk-In Medical Treatment Office in West Long Branch. For generations, Dr. Dennis Edgardo C. Mojares, Sr. has been dedicated to offering urgent care and minor surgical services to this community. This practice holds the distinction of being the first Urgent Care Center in Monmouth County and one of the earliest in the state of New Jersey. In 2002, Dr. Richard A. Mojares, MD, FAAP joined the team. With dual board certifications in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, he provides urgent care for patients of all ages. Dr. Rich is also able to admit patients to Monmouth Medical Center or Jersey Shore Medical Center when a higher level of care is necessary.

What is Urgent Care?

What is the difference between urgent and primary care?

Our urgent care centers are open for acute and non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries during the day, evenings and weekends. Our primary care office is open Monday through Friday to address preventative care and chronic medical conditions.

We are UCAOA (Urgent Care Association of America) certified.
