TOMS RIVER, NJ — To celebrate the opening of its new office in Toms River, Family First Urgent Care will be offering free blood pressure and glucose screenings until Labor Day, the facility announced.
The facility, located in the Rands Plaza at 1851 Hooper Ave., opened recently and offers a wide range of services for non-life-threatening issues, including sports physicals, flu/strep testing, and injury treatment, with X-rays available on site.
The free blood pressure and glucose screenings are being offered as a thank you to the Toms River community, the organization said in a news release.
“At Family First Urgent Care, you’re family. We want our growing family in Toms River to know we care. Offering these life saving screenings, free of charge, gives the community an idea of what we’re all about,” said Dr. Richard A. Mojares, the medical director, at Family First Urgent Care.
Toms River Mayor Tom Kelaher recently joined Mojares and his wife Michelle for the ribbon-cutting ceremony; the Toms River location is their second location at the Jersey Shore. Their other location is in Ocean Township in Monmouth County.
Other services offered include physicals for worker’s comp, Department of Transportation, commercial driver’s licenses, and ROTC, and pre-employment and post-accident drug screenings.
Family First Urgent Care is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Most insurances are accepted and self-pay is available. The doctors are affiliated with Monmouth Medical Center and Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
